Guidant/Medtronic Recall: Malfunctioning |
|
Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators (ICDs) are devices implanted in the chest to monitor and correct Arrhythmia, or irregular heart rhythm. ICDs function by shocking the heart to a normal rhythm after irregularities such as a faster than normal heartbeat. ICDs can also function as pacemakers, emitting regular electrical signals to regulate an abnormally low heartbeat.
Description of the problem
Some ICDs are malfunctioning due to various causes such as battery shorting, loss of pacing without warning, degradation of sealing components, short circuiting, deterioration of electrical insulation, memory error, and failure to recharge, among many others. The list of recalled devices is subject to change. For information regarding your ICD and to find out if it has been recalled, please contact us in Reno (775-828-9999) or Las Vegas (702-838-8500), or call us at 1-800-574-1655.
Your ability to recover damages and the amount of your recovery will depend in large part on the strength and reputation of the law firm you select to handle your case.
